Here we are in Nashville, home of country music and the Grand Ole Opry! It’s a totally different place from St. Paul and we’re all eager to meet our new audiences. Thursday we’re going to do a “Greening” for Habitat for Humanity. It’s going to be alot warmer here than it was when we did a build in St. Paul.
First Performance in St. Paul
First performance in St. Paul tonight. The sets are up, the lighting is done, orchestra rehersal finished, sound check finished. Right now the cast is on stage checking out the space and meeting their wardrobe dressers. Everybody is excited about returning to the Twin Cities area. We loved being at the Guthrie and now we’re just across the river in St. Paul!
Hello St. Paul!
We said goodbye to Fall and the beautiful setting at the Papermill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ on Friday. Today, we started unloading the trucks as the snow is falling is St. Paul. Hello winter! With snow plows salting and sanding (not to mention indoor heating) we wont have the hardships of the Ingalls family in De Smet. We’re looking forward to a great run and seeing lots of our Prairie friends there.
Yesterdays Matinee
Yesterdays matinee at Papermill was so much fun! There was a small group of girls in bonnets and Prairie outfits. They were so adorable! One girl wore jewel studded cowboy boots with hers! What a fashionista. In contrast, sitting in the second row was a vigorous woman who was introduced from the stage by the managing director who was there celebrating her 100th birthday along with some much younger “80 year old” girlfriends. It was a very special day at Little House on the Prairie: The Musical.
Last Week at Papermill
We’re sold out at the Papermill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ! Our last performance after five WONDERFUL weeks is Saturday night Oct. 10. Then we’re off to the great, big, beautiful Ordway theater in St. Paul. Just across the river from where this all started at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis a year ago!
The View
Did anyone else catch Melissa co-hosting “The View” this morning? She was terrific. They didn’t say much about Little House, but I checked out the feed on The Views website. There’s a whole BUNCH of stuff about the show.
Week 3
It’s week 3 at the Papermill Playhouse in Millbun ,NJ. We love seeing girls arriving with their Prairie dresses and bonnets!
The Prairians Leave Town
Today the entire cast of Little House on the Prairie left New York for Milburn New Jersey and the start of technical rehearsals. Their last work in New York was a big press conference where they did three numbers from the show that were just WONDERFUL. Everybody’s eager to see their costumes, the set and props, and to hear the music played with full orchestra.
